… And so the tour continues! The other side of Theya’s nursery has quite a bit more crammed in. Obviously I needed somewhere to put all her gorgeous clothes, but I also wanted to fit in a story telling/nursing chair next to the window. I love sitting and gazing out over the roof tops whilst cuddling my baby girl.
As much as I love modern furniture, you just can’t beat that magical feeling when you find a unique vintage piece. I snapped up this old doctor’s filing cabinet a few years ago at a local vintage fair. It’s tiny drawers are just perfect for tiny clothes! I lined and labelled the drawers so that I can quickly find what I need, and gave it all a good scrub to satisfy my overwhelming end-of-pregnancy nesting urge!
Feeling inspired by the current trend of creating a focal point with story books, I transformed the blank area above the cabinet into an inspirational story area with these simple B&Q shelves. Hiding amongst the books are intricately embroidered handmade animals, all from Etsy. I searched for months for the perfect wardrobe and finally found a gorgeous retro wardrobe on Ebay that had been revamped in grey paint. Theya’s cute clothes are so little that I was able to add an extra rail in myself below, it was super easy to do even at 9 months pregnant!
For years I have been coveting these gorgeous felt and Liberty fabric hair bows on Etsy, and when we found out we were having a girl I just had to buy them! The ceramic bunny lamp is from Notonthehighstreet, and the lace crown is from Etsy.
Every reading area needs a comfy chair, and this £50 bargain vintage chair was a fab find on Ebay! I plan to recover it in Daisy & Bump Enchanted Fabric. Above the chair I hung my Woodland Alphabet Illustration. I can’t wait until Theya is old enough to snuggle with me in this chair and lose ourselves in magical stories together. Finally I want to give a big thank you to my Mum. Using our Daisy & Bump Rabbits & Roses fabric she made these beautiful curtains, lining them with a cream cotton. Even on the rainiest of days, they give the room a lovely warm glow.
I hope you have enjoyed my nursery reveal, even if it is 6 months late!
